چکیده

The cemented backfill (CB) utilizing coal gangue (CG) and fly ash (FA) is widely applied in mines. However, the bleeding shrinkage of CB leads to insufficient contact with surrounding rock, which not beneficial for controlling roof subsidence even stope stability. Herein, a foam (CFB) formulation demonstrated, employing hydrogen dioxide (H2O2) as chemical foaming agent. cement FA show noticeable inhibiting effects on volume expansion due network formed by their hydrates. Moderately lower cement, FA, solid concentration are improve increment prolong expanding duration. A coefficient (k) proposed theory evaluate efficiency. kem values, determined evolution experiments CFB slurries, provide calculation basis needed dosage H2O2 solution targeting specific increment. specimens ratios 21%~103% densities 994~592 kg/cm3 were prepared, an actual 52.40 cm3/g uniaxial compressive strength (UCS) 0.32~0.55 MPa. mass was 1.9%~11.3% 0.29%~1.67% total materials weight. UCS decline compared attributed rich pores observed CT carbonation indicated X-ray diffraction (XRD).

Use of fly-ash slurry in backfill grouting in coal mines

Cave backfill grouting implies grouting of the caving rock mass prior to it being compacted. The filling materials strengthen the caving rock and support the overlying strata to achieve the purpose of slowing down the surface subsidence. The broken roof will fail and collapse during mining operations performed without appropriate supporting measures being taken. It is difficult to perform conti...

The respiratory toxicity of coal fly ash

The aim of this study was to compare the relative respiratory toxicity of CFA samples obtained from three Chinese coal-burning power stations to CFA obtained from a UK coal-burning power station; both bulk and respirable PM10 samples were tested. In order to elucidate CFA toxicity, a multi-disciplinary approach was taken, thereby considering geochemical aspects of the fly ash as well as biochem...

Health aspects of coal fly ash

Employees of coal-fired power stations and people living nearby as well as those involved in the shipment and processing of coal fly ash can be exposed to coal fly ash (pulverised fuel ash or “PFA”). An extensive research program was carried out in order to map such exposure and its effects. Particle size distribution, chemical composition, quartz, radioactivity, emission factors and fugitive d...

Production geopolymer materials by coal fly ash

Coal ash is the main waste from power plant. It is estimated that the consumption of the coal for power plant will increase to 240 million tons each year and the coal ash wastes will produce more than 2 million tons per year. Although the utilization of coal fly ash can be reached 74.1%, large amount of coal fly ash and bottom ash still cannot be utilized. The purpose of this research is to dev...
